Thank You

Last night didn't go the way we'd hoped. Regardless of the outcome, I want to thank every voter in Chittenden North who gave me the chance to earn their support.

 

From day one, I promised a positive campaign focused on the issues that matter to Vermonters: housing, affordability, and keeping Vermont a place where our kids can build a life. I kept that promise. There were moments when we could have thrown mud, and we chose not to. The challenges facing Vermont families are far too important to be buried under personal attacks, and I believe voters deserve a real conversation about the future.

 

Over these months we knocked on thousands of doors, held events in every corner of the district, and met so many of you on your porches, at your kitchen tables, and on the sidelines. Those conversations are what I'll remember most, and I'm grateful for every one of them.

 

To our volunteers, donors, and supporters: you gave your time, your money, and your weekends because you believed in this campaign. I can't thank you enough.

 

To the people of Fairfax and Georgia: serving you in the Vermont House for the past four years has been the honor of my life. Thank you for trusting me to be your voice in Montpelier. I never took that trust for granted.

 

We wish this race turned out differently and we won't pretend otherwise. There were national headwinds beyond our control. But our family has always believed in leaving it on the field, and we did. Now we'll take some time to rest, reflect, and look ahead.

 

I don't know yet what comes next, but I know my commitment to this community isn't going anywhere.
